Pouso do Infante

Pouso do Infante - This restaurant is a real treat. The interior is tastefully designed with modern, comfortable furniture, nice cutlery and crockery. The walls are dressed with back lit navigators crests. The kitchen is behind frosted glass through which you can make out the flashes of flame giving a appetising drama to your forthcoming meal. The couvert is very good with a selection of tasty breads, home-made tuna paté and cod cakes. Starters begin from as little as €1.50 for soup. The wine selection is simple, good and well priced. With popular favourites at around €8 that we have seen sold in other places for well over €10. The timing between courses was perfect making for a relaxed experience. The choice of main dishes is vast with the many specials. Most dishes come with a choice if salad or veggies and several potato options which are served in stylish twinned side dishes.

All in all, a terrific experience throughout from the friendly hosts.

To top it all they have the best toilet door signs we has seen.

We would go along with everything you have said about this fantastic restaurant. Antonio & his wife are great hosts & the food is superb. Try the feijoado de buzios as well as the black pork & the steak on a hot stone, all delicious. I enjoyed the feijoado so much Antonio brought me more. We had an excellent bottle of wine for 14 euros that costs 26 euros just up the street. Check out the lunchtime specials too, excellent meals at excellent prices. One to go back to time & time again (as we have).

We have visited Pouso do Infante several times and have enjoyed every meal. Antonio and Joao create a great atmosphere and the food is always superb. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and a great fuss is always made of the children. We are already looking forward to this year's holiday and more meals at this excellent restaurant.

Couldn't agree more! Excellent food (compared to sex by my group of friends and I) and incredibly friendly waiter, who spoke a range of languages completely fluently! I had octopus, which was cooked to perfection and was the most fresh it could be. No frozen, precooked things here! My other friends had sea bass and th squid which were also amazingly cooked. Better than ANY other restaurant we went to during our stay. Would hugely reccomend!
